The Passion
I have been thinking a lot lately. More than I normally do when I am in the motherhood grind every day. I have to say I think it all started with the movie Soul Surfer. Have you seen it? My three year old daughter loves it. I never really think about movies after the fact, but for some reason it inspired me. That girl absolutely LOVED surfing day in and day out even though there were sharks eating her.
So this posed a question in my mind. What do I even like? I don't have anything (I am talking besides kids) that I just can't wait for the morning to come to get up and do it all over again. Besides food I would have to say I am obsessed and passionate about houses and decorating. Basically good deals, good finds and home improvement.
When I designed this kitchen. I had no idea how small it was from the plans. If you are building a house or getting custom plans I would really take tape to scale how large or not large things are. With that said I really wanted to make sure the cabinets popped. Staggering them is the way to go. Adds so much height and eye candy to the room. Crown molding is a must and an easy way to update your kitchen without too much money involved. With such a small space adding a nice backsplash does wonders on the eye and not on the wallet. I used tumbled travertine and accented it with a darker color to add some pizazzz!
What is your passion?

Photo Shoot!
My mom signed up to get a free service from someone in the ward in return for her to organize a room for someone. We got the opportunity for a free photo shoot with Megan Klug. She was awesome and we loved how fun she was. Here are some that we got back.
I have to write this down because I thought it was so funny. The picture of me and Taylor hugging we were laughing so hard because the Photographer, Megan , Said, "Taylor lift up your foot!" (She thought I was Taylor) Taylor started laughing and said, " What??!! You want me to lift up my foot?" Maybe it was a "you had to be there" thing, but the whole experience was so fun and we loved it. If anyone needs their pictures done she is the girl to call Megan Klug.

Fut Fugget Moment
Bear and Bella Loved the merry-go-round so much so that Bear had a complete break down after we got off. Yes that is him lying all by himself on the concrete courtyard at the park. We finally went and picked him up after we got a few looks from the audience. The walk back to the car he was kicking and screaming the whole way. Before I had kids I really would have thought the kid was getting kidnapped, but it's funny once you're a mom you have a complete understanding for anything that happens anywhere at anytime.
We went to the Train Park in Scottsdale...you really need to take your kids if you have not been there. Our family loves going. We went on a train ride and a merry-go-round. Bear was not in the best of moods due to fatigue and hunger. Tay chased him all over the park. I am all about your kid being nice, but this is how it went. We were taking a picture of Bear and we didn't know how it turned out so in the 5 seconds we were reviewing the picture we took this man came and yelled (with a rather gay voice), "Hey!! How bout you watch your kid throwing sand on my son!!!" Tay and I were just in a state of awe. I mostly wanted to just laugh at him considering his kid was like 8-10 years old and his dad was more bothered by the sand than the son seemed to care and Bear only had time to throw it once. I thought Tay wouldn't recover to quickly because he just picked up Bear and went to climb a tree. It was funny and awkward to just sit back and watch. Oh well, I hope we make it back around Christmas for the lights!
I had such a good time with my parents in Gilbert over Thanksgiving. In fact, it was amazing! The weather was beautiful and we even went out to dinner. We went to Olive Garden. I loved every serving of my unlimited soup and salad. My kids behaved like heaven sent angels. I sat and ate the whole time. I never got up once to chase a kid or bounce Bella. This is just such a rare occasion I had to write about it! Thanks mother for buying our dinner...it just added to my night:) JAna, Kelli and Kyle I am sad you guys weren't there!
